Black Shell & Sterling Silver Heart Earrings

Black Shell is one of my favorite materials to design with and has special meaning to me.  When I visited Tahiti, I learned that the cherished Tahitian Black Pearl is created and housed inside the black shell.  Tahitians use Black Shell to design jewelry, art, and furniture.  They often carve beautiful designs on it.  You will see it in some of my future designs. 

For this  design, these lovely hearts display a soft rainbow and silver sheen, are double sided and measure approximately a half inch.  The Sterling Silver hoop measures 2 mm x 15 mm which is a little bigger than a half inch in diameter.  The total length including the Black Shell focal measures about 1 1/4 inches in length.  Sterling silver compliments them perfectly, and they will go with almost every outfit.
